The Detroit Chapter of the MOWW is planning the 101st National Convention with the theme of honoring those who have perpetuated General Pershing's request that his officers continue serving America after their active military service ended. It was in 1920 that the first MOWW Convention was held in Detroit and it seems appropriate that the first MOWW Convention of the next 100 years comes back to where it began – in Detroit.
We believe that Detroit is the perfect place to begin the next hundred years of MOWW National Conventions. It will build local and national Chapter awareness and recruiting and be a symbol of the longevity of this great and meaningful organization to continue its patriotic history.
With so much to do outside of the convention, Detroit makes it an ideal location. Sites such as The Henry Ford Museum, Yankee Air Museum, The Detroit Institute of Arts, and the Motown Museum allow convention attendees a chance to experience all that Detroit has to offer.
The Double Tree by Hilton Detroit - Dearborn is a perfect property for the convention and its attendees. The hotel is Veteran friendly and all events happen on the first floor. No climbing stairs or long walks.
